Capitol Police Section

The Capitol Police Section promotes exchange of information and develops standards for increasing the efficiency and capabilities of each law enforcement agency that provides service to our state and nation’s critical assets.

Mission

The mission of this section is to allow its members to develop and promote professional relationships among its members and the IACP; and to increase the efficiency and capabilities of each law enforcement agency that provides service to our state and nation’s critical assets. This will be accomplished by providing educational training, promoting effective leadership, sharing information, and mentoring our future leaders.

Membership

Section membership is open to individuals who are now, or have been, engaged in or responsible for providing police services at a national or state/providence State House. Section members will promote and develop beneficial relationships with the private sector and our individual communities. Integrity, honor, and ethical behavior will be the standard for professionalism among our section members.

Upcoming Meetings

The Capitol Police section will be holding its first official meeting at the IACP Annual Conference in San Diego to set its mission, values, goals, and projects for the coming years. The first meeting will include subject matter experts and leadership from other sections. We need your help in establishing a section that the entire IACP membership can be proud of. The Capitol Police section meeting will take place on November 9, from 1pm to 4pm, in the San Diego Convention Center; you can find the location in the conference program. Please join us for this inaugural meeting.
